FS2004 Avro 618 'Ten' (Fokker FVIIb/3m)

By Jens B. Kristensen

Version 1, august 2004.

The Avro 618 'Ten' was a British, licence-built version of the Fokker FVIIb/3m, one of the most succesful airliners of 1925-1935.
Avro procured its licence to build the FVIIb/3m in 1928, and built a total of 14. This package contains two aircraft:

1) Avro Ten VH-UNA 'Southern Sun' of Charles Kingsford-Smith's original Australian National Airways. This company was rather short-lived, and must not be confused with the later ANA. The 'Fokkers' of ANA were painted in the same colours as Kingsford-Smith's Fokker FVIIb/3m 'Southern Cross', famous for its Pacific crossing in 1928. (I hope to model that one some day). ANA flew non-stop Sydney-Brisbane, so you can try that route, and Sydney-Melbourne as well.

2) Avro Ten G-AASP 'Achilles' of Imperial Airways, one of the predecessors of B.O.A.C. Imperial Airways used its two 'Fokkers' for special charter flights.

For more details of Fokker FVII history and for flying instructions, plase read the documentation (pdf format, requires Acrobat Reader) installed in the \manual folder.
----

Installation: Just unzip this archive to the Flight Simulator 9\aircraft folder.

Please note: The aircraft is listed under 'Fokker', not 'Avro' in the FS 'select aircraft' box.

----

The gauges are mainly default gauges of Flight Simulator 2004. A few are by me, with a inspiration from MS gauges.

Many thanks to Gary Milera for details about the Australian 'Fokkers'.

----

This aircraft was made with FSDS 2.24. Textures with Paint Shop Pro and DxtBmp.

It is freeware and must stay that way.

Good luck flying the Fokker FVII trimotor!
